The first chapter was extremely emotional for me.This segment was incredibly sad and depressing for me. When Moshe was taken by the Hungarian police I had a feeling that he would be ok and that he would get out of it. Elie’s reaction to moshe being taken hit me hard because he had just been separated with someone close to him and he may never see him again. “It was to be the last night spent in our house” (Wiese 18). When he said this I was very upset and confused. I would not be able to spend a night in my house knowing it would be my last. When he says this it tells me so many things about how he feels deep down. He is trying so hard to be thought and make sure that his family stays strong too. This quote showed me that he was extremely sad and confused. He didn’t want it to be his last but he also knew there wasn’t a way to stop it on his own. He felt helpless and he felt that the least he could was keep his family going so that they had some hope to make it through. Wiesel’s writing style was very simple but also very intense at the same time. He used rather large and very descriptive words and while doing this told his story in a simple easy way.

Sophia I really like the way you explained how the book affected you emotionally it was very well put together. The way you wrote about his writing style could have a bit more detail.
ReplyDeleteSophia,
ReplyDeleteI liked hoe you described how emotional the first chapter was for you I would agree with what you said. I really liked how much emotion you put into it as well, but at the end I think you could be a little more descriptive
