As I read through page 22 so many thoughts went through out my head. At times I would forget that this is a real story because I love fiction and that what I love to read because if something bad happens I know it didn't really happen. In Night though I tried to feel what they had to feel but I could never get to it, because I was never there and I was not alive.I have no memory of what happened and I'm left with books, internet and others who know more than me for my answers. I feel like Elie Wiesel had a good start to the book that told me that it will be a hard book to read but also I can sorta feel the feeling of what they had to feel, but nowhere near what they had. I really want to find out where they go, but above all of that in the beginning of the book Elie Wiesel said in memory of his parents and with youngest sister. Does that mean they die? I can picture some of the themes a little. When they said all they could bring was a backpack, some food, and clothes, I thought but that not enough what about there money to buy more food. Another question I have why did the Jewish Community not take that man who went around telling people what was going to happen, why didn’t they take his advice. Elie Wiesel’s writing is amazing in how he goes through 2 different views (his younger self and his present self). I see Night as a story that's going to make me wonder and cry a little from what these people had to go though.

Good Job Gabe! You were very descriptive in your emotional response, but you could've added a little more connectivity. For instance, it goes from, "Does that mean they die?" to "I can picture some of the themes a little."
ReplyDeleteGabe, I feel that you could explain your first impressions on the book a bit clearer and in a little more detail. I want to know what you felt like and not what you wanted to feel. However I really liked how you added the part when Wiesel said "In memory of his parents and with youngest sister." I find this one of your best ideas here and it really makes me think of the possibilities that could of happened to them. It makes me want to read on and I really like that about your first post.
